Introduction to New-type Municipal Solid Waste Sorting Machine

Categories :

Environmental pollution by municipal solid wastes due to increased population and industrialization has resulted in various risks such as;

•Increased water contamination due to leaching of chemical compounds into water systems and direct dumping of waste into these systems which results in water bone diseases including typhoid and cholera that pose health risks to humans.
•Air pollution due to decomposing waste releasing poisonous gases into the environment. Refer to https://www.bestongroup.com/es/continuous-pyrolysis-plant/.

As a result, there has been the development of effective municipal solid waste sorting machine that helps in managing the large numbers of wastes generated through sorting processes that make it easier for recycling purposes. One of the management systems includes the use of municipal solid waste sorting equipment that separates the waste for either recycling or disposal.

Municipal solid waste sorting equipment by the use of different principles is able to separate different types of waste which include metallic waste, organic waste plastic waste, construction waste, textile waste, glass, and paper waste most of which can be recycled into useful products: https://www.bestongroup.com/es/wood-charcoal-making-machine/.

Components of municipal solid waste sorting equipment

•A manual waste sorting system where the manual separation of large wastes such as construction bricks and stones, clothing, plastics, and big brunches is done by an operator.

•A crushing system that is used to break down the waste into smaller materials for ease of the separation process.

•A bag breaking system that is used to break large solid containing polythene bags for ease of the sorting process.

•A sensor system that employs different principles to separate different types of waste. These include the IR sensor that detect any solid material in the system, a metal sensor that is used to detect metallic materials, moisture sensor that can detect both dry and wet waste by absorption of moisture, a photoelectric sensor that is used to detect plastic waste, a proximity capacitive sensor that detects glass and paper waste.

•A rotating screening machine that separates the waste according to the size where waste larger than 50mm in diameter is separated from the smaller waste materials.

•A conveying system that moves the waste materials during the segregation process.

•A programmable logic controller (PLC) system that controls the whole process of waste segregation.

•An odor control system that helps in eliminating the bad odors during the segregation process.

Most of the equipment has a flexible configuration according to the real needs of the customers, you can contact beston machinery group for the specific information.

Working process of the municipal solid waste sorting equipment

Waste from garbage trucks is loaded into the manual sorting system where an operator will remove large wastes including construction material, waste clothing, plant logs, and plastics. The waste is then fed into the crushing system where is broken down and a bag breaking system will also break down the large garbage bags releasing the waste inside.

The waste is then directed into the sorting system with different sensors where the IR sensor detects the waste and emits infra-red rays which signal the PLC system that will, in turn, start the conveyor belt which will convey the waste into the rotating screening machine that separates waste materials of less than 50 mm in diameter. The metallic sensor will then separate the metallic material based on the principle of magnetism. The photoelectric sensor will detect any plastic material passing along while the proximity captive sensor will detect both glass and plastic waste material.

Depending on the material, the different types of waste are directed into respective collecting bins, from where they can be collected for either recycling or disposal.

Final Products:

Final Products of a solid waste separation system are as follows,
•Biofuel is obtained by the recycling of plastic waste by the process of pyrolysis.
•Organic matter obtained by recycling organic waste material which can be used in the agricultural industries and also in the production of biogas through fermentation which can be used as an alternative source of fuel.
•Paper waste can also be recycled through pyrolysis to produce alternative fuel sources: https://www.bestongroup.com/es/rubber-pyrolysis-plant/.
•Steel produced by recycling of metallic waste.
•Construction bricks and stones can be reused in the construction industry for making new bricks.

Advantages of using municipal solid waste sorting equipment

•The process is automated and thus making the working process easy and efficient.
•It is environmentally friendly due to the presence of an odor control system that reduces the smell of waste materials.
•It is an effective way of controlling environmental pollution.
•Useful final products from the recycling process are obtained.
•The machine is completely sealed and thus safe with reduced pollution.
•It is an economical way of turning waste into treasure.
